Button top design for expanded device compatibility
Advanced thermal safety technology
Reliable performance with excellent cycle life
Note: This is a button top protected 18650 battery which is longer than a standard flat top unprotected 18650 battery.
Note: Do not remove the clear protective wrap — doing so voids the warranty and may compromise the cell's protection circuit.
Overview
The Panasonic NCR18650B delivers dependable, long-duration power in a protected button top format. Designed for users who value safety and extended runtime, this battery combines Panasonic’s trusted engineering with advanced internal protection to provide consistent energy you can rely on.
While this battery is equipped with built-in protection circuitry to help prevent
overcharging, over-discharging, and short circuits, improper handling or misuse
can still result in FIRE, EXPLOSION, or THERMAL RUNAWAY,
causing personal injury or property damage. Users must read and follow all safety
guidelines before purchase and use.

Intended Use: This battery is designed for use in flashlights,
headlamps, and similar devices that require a button top configuration. Ensure
compatibility with your device before purchase or use.
Protection Circuit Limitations: While the protection circuit provides
additional safety, it cannot prevent damage caused by misuse, including exposure to
liquids, extreme heat, or physical damage.
Storage & Transport: Always store batteries in protective cases to
prevent accidental contact with metal objects (e.g., keys, coins, tools) that can
cause a short circuit. Do not store loose batteries in pockets, bags, or other
uncontrolled environments.
Inspection: Do not use if the battery is dented, leaking, bulging,
or if the outer wrapper or button top is damaged.
Charging: Use a smart charger specifically designed for button top
protected batteries. Do not exceed the battery's voltage and current specifications.
Never leave the battery unattended while charging.
Prohibited Activities:
Do not expose the battery to water, fire, or high heat.
Do not modify, puncture, crush, or attempt to disassemble the battery.
Do not use the battery if it becomes unusually hot during use or charging.
Emergency Response: If a cell shows signs of thermal runaway (e.g., smoke, swelling, hissing, or heat), stop use immediately and, if it can be done safely, move it to a non-flammable surface (e.g., concrete or sand) away from combustible materials. Lithium-ion cells burn as Class B fires — use an ABC / dry-chemical fire extinguisher, or douse with large amounts of water to cool the cell and prevent the fire from spreading. Do not rely on a small spray; thorough cooling is required, and cells can reignite from residual heat, so monitor the area afterward. (Class D extinguishers are intended for lithium-metal batteries, not lithium-ion.) For any fire beyond a single small cell, evacuate and call emergency services.

I purchased Panasonic NCR18650B batteries, XTAR 14500 batteries and some 18650 storage cases and was amazed with the results. I had been using off brand cheap Li-ion batteries to power flashlights like the ones shown. The cheap batteries made crazy claims for their capacity and came nowhere near their claims operating the flashlights for 20 to 40 minutes. About a third of their claimed capacity. I was about ready to give up on Li-ion batteries but thought I would give imr batteries a try. They cost more but boy are they worth it. In the flashlights they lasted more than 3 times as long as the cheap off brand batteries. Over 3 hours for the larger battery and over an hour for the smaller battery. By measurement they actually exceeded their rated capacity. I have learned my lesson, imr is the only place I will buy Li-ion batteries in the future. And the 18650 storage boxes are great at a very low price.
While I can't speak to the longevity of the batteries yet as I have not had them long, they do seem to power my UV flashlight quite well.
Checking the voltage using a digital voltmeter (immediately after recharging) one battery read 4.28 volts and the other one 4.26 volts and the spec sheet listed the max volts as 4.2 volts so that seems to be pretty accurate.
Received my order in good time. I didn't read fine print that cells cannot be returned. I actually opened the package after having for over a week. Got ready to charge batteries and one of the batteries was dead flat and would not charge. Looked at return details and clearly shows you cannot return cells after one week. They clearly do not test cells before sending out and your screwed if you get an expensive unchargeable battery.
This battery has superior consistency in charging to its rated amperage capacity (watt hours) and holds its charge surprisingly well over time in storage. Self contained regulation circuitry allows the freedom to use most any compatible source to charge. Worth the price.
Great batteries. A little longer than batteries without the protection, but still fit in every device I’ve used them in. Batteries hold advertised capacity as well, unlike most cheap generic batteries that hold about 10% of advertised capacity.
I had bought 12 of these Panasonic batteries FOUR years ago for hobby activity, and had ordered cases for these with a power switch. Had placed all these batteries in the six cases. They have never failed me. I use it test my electronic circuits, power my touchless kitchen faucet. It has been reliable experience for all these years. Would definitely recommend them.
These are excellent batteries made in Japan. I use them for my LED flashlights and my Tecsun PL880 radios. The order process was easy and they were shipped securely and arrived quickly. I am very pleased with the batteries and the excellent service, Thank you.
So... theses are by far not the cheapest batteries you can buy.. They are a high end product, and perform as such.
I've come to realize that you need to put protected batteries in moderate drain applications, in devices that have no internal cut off protection. Seriously.. How many batteries have you had trashed by giving / lending them out to people who would run a flashlight until it went dim, and then wonder why it wouldn't recharge? With these, no worries about running the voltage low, tons of power.. An excellent investment!!
