What is Thermal Runaway?
- A dangerous chain reaction where heat generated by a failing battery causes it to overheat further, potentially leading to fire or explosion.
- Causes: Overcharging, short circuits, physical damage, or exposure to high temperatures.
- Prevention: Use a smart charger, avoid physical damage, and store batteries in a cool, dry place.
- Storage & Transport: Always store batteries in protective cases or boxes to prevent accidental contact with metal objects. Never store loose batteries in pockets, purses, bags, or near conductive materials.
- Inspection: Do not use if the PVC wrapper, terminal insulator, or casing is damaged, dented, leaking, or bulging. These are signs of internal damage or instability, and continued use could result in failure, fire, or explosion.
- Charging: Use a smart charger designed specifically for lithium-ion batteries and ensure that the charger's voltage matches the battery's specifications. Never overcharge, over-discharge, or leave unattended while charging.
- Prohibited Activities: Do not short circuit, modify, puncture, crush, expose to liquids, or solder directly onto the battery (spot weld only).
- Emergency Response: If a cell shows signs of thermal runaway (smoke, swelling, hissing, or heat), stop use immediately and, if it can be done safely, move it to a non-flammable surface (e.g., concrete or sand) away from combustibles. Lithium-ion cell fires are Class B fires — use an ABC/dry-chemical extinguisher, or douse with large amounts of water to cool the cell and prevent spread. Do not rely on a small spray; thorough cooling is required, and cells can reignite from residual heat, so monitor the area afterward. (Class D extinguishers are for lithium-metal batteries, not lithium-ion.) For any fire beyond a single small cell, evacuate and call emergency services.

Great battery, I’m using it to power a 3500 lumens flashlight and it easily handles it, the capacity is good, not low but not high, these batteries are of great quality from a known and trusted manufacturer, it’s specs are true to what they state, I highly recommend them, they are rated at 35 amps which is perfect to power single cell high power flashlights.
I have switched to building my own battery packs with batteries from IMR. They have worked really well and they are a great buy.
shipment was fast all 12 batteries came in at 20 percent recharge to its full capacity at around 2500 mAh which is fair enough as is it new. it may go up to 2600 for awhile
I used these batteries all the time although they just started marking them not for e-cigs or vape? I've been using them for 10 years now and never had a problem with any one of them other than wear and tear? They've charged quickly and discharge nicely as well! I marked them with blue tape for positive so I don't put them in my vape box upside down. Other than that all I can tell you if you're looking for a good Vape battery then this is the one to buy.

I know it's stamped right on the cover of the battery that's not for e-cigs or Vape, but I've been using the same batteries for the past 6 years and the only reason I purchased them is because the price was great and you beat all your competitors! It's a great battery it charges quickly it discharges quickly and they hold the charge for a long time! I change my battery just maybe every 8 hours sometimes 10 hours? And that's during daytime is when I'm sleeping obviously they last a little longer? But all in all from my scale from 1 to 10 I give them a 12! Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my feedback and if anyone reads this I would be where of the warning but the only reason I used them is because I know for me and this is my opinion, that they are safe? But you should proceed with caution like anything else in life? Just because one guy jumps off the roof of a building doesn't mean you do the same I think you understand what I mean? I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with IMR Batteries and my purchase of the Molicel 26a. I personally bought a case (100)of the 26a and used them to re-vamp my Milwaukee power tool batteries and I was able to install the molicels in place of their normal Samsung 25r and I managed to create what is without a doubt a better-than-factory battery for my Milwaukee power tool batteries. They last 3x longer and produce more (amperage) torque than the factory batteries. There is less stopping or binding from stress on the battery and even when it does occur I can simply release the trigger and the batteries recover dozens of times unlike the factory batteries that might recover once or twice. I plan to buy many more when I can. So long as the price remains so reasonable.
